In June of 2022, 37 members of the deaf ministry in Abidjan attended a workshop in Bonoua about Symbol Universal Notation. The goal is to teach deaf individuals who have never been to school to use symbols that can help them read and learn the bible quickly! The workshop organized by Wycliffe Associates.
12 facilitators were trained too during the workshop, and after just 4 days, many deaf individuals were able to read the Bible! This is the second session of this workshop with a new group of deafs. The next step is to raise funds and organize another workshop in Abidjan for another group of deaf individuals.
As facilitators we received tools and methods to teach people everywhere. We would like to go accross the country to find deaf men and women in all the villages and towns! In just the North region of Ivory Coast it’s statistically likely that we will find roughly 1500 people in need.
After the last session of SUN in November 2021, more than 5 deaf individuals who have never been to school before studied bible and become disciples of Christ. God has amazed us with what has done and what he will continue to do. Please pray for our deaf ministry missions!
